A newsletter for the German-speaking community - including Austrian, German, Swiss, - living in Western Canada or Vancouver & beyond. Our aim is to build community, by featuring & promoting companies, non-profits, charities, churches, famous singers, dancers, musicians, writers, actors, sports figures, politicans connected to German-speaking Canadians. Most issues are delivered via the Internet, while some copies are still printed and now available for $2 each. Mailing is $3, payable a year at a time, so $60 are requested up front. Advertising Rates: $1500 for a whole year full page ad; $750 for one year for a half-page ad and $500 one year for a 1/3 page ad. Businesses need to book one year at a time.

The DKV Society
is seeking new Members! Families may join for $50 a year, while singles
may join for $20. All proceeds are used to further the aims of our Society,
which is run by strictly volunteers. Some goals include purchasing a
domain name & website hosting, joining the German Chamber as a Society,
fundraising activities, such as our annual Lantern Festival, and possibly
getting DKV T-Shirts to sell to the public. We also are looking for
Board Members to help plan & host events. Finally, some other short-term
volunteer positions are:
a. Help draw plans and/or make a model of our future German Cultural Centre - see examples below
b. Help plan a museum or children's museum - what would it look like?
c. Help organize a German library and/or DVD swap organization
d. Coffee shop or deli that would like to move in and join us - indoor/outdoor facility
